We are thrilled to introduce 2 new initiatives aimed at bolstering our Clubs and school programs across Queensland. If you've aspired to coach or become a boat race official and don’t have a boat licence, this is your opportunity!

Thanks to the generous support of the Queensland State Government's Active Industry Based Funding, Rowing Queensland is proud to announce that we will be funding 50% of a Boat Licence for one Club member in each Affiliated Rowing Queensland Club and 50% of up to 20 Level 2 Coach accreditations up until 30 June 2024.

Here's how it works:

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Coaching: Individuals must commit to actively coaching crews within their Club for a minimum of 12 months and hold, or be willing to gain (*CoachUp project) a Level 1 or level 2 certification in coaching.

  • Officiating: Individuals must commit to actively officiate at Rowing Queensland events for a minimum of 12 months and hold or be training as a Level 1 BRO.

Nomination Process:

  • Each Club is eligible to nominate one person to undertake this qualification.

  • Additional candidates may be nominated on a first-come, first-served basis, if other Clubs do not uptake the offer.

On water boat licence dates in April, May and June in Brisbane, Townsville, Bundaberg, Rockhampton, Pine Rivers, Gold Coast. Dates to be advised based on nominee’s availability.

Level 1 Coaching and Level 1 BRO courses: online via the Rowing Australia HERE.  Start any time.

Level 2 Coaching date: 2 nights May and June Gold Coast, Brisbane, Bundaberg, Rockhampton, Townsville.
