River Safety WarningA private pontoon opposite the University of QLD City Cat terminal has come away from it's moorings over the weekend and it protruding into the river a significant distance. Please take extra caution around this area of the river in the next few days to avoid collisions. |
2009 Queensland Sports AwardsRowing has been recognised by QSport (who runs the annual Queensland Sports Awards) with 5 nominations, selected as finalists in the various categories for the upcoming 2009 Queensland Sports Awards. The finalists are: QLD Sport Team of the year: Queensland Youth Cup Team The Awards will be held on Friday 4 December 2009 at the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre. Queensland win the Youth CupWith two silver medal winning performances in the men’s and women’s eights on the final day of competition Queensland has made history, and taken out the Rusty Robertson Trophy for the first time, and breaking New Zealand’s four year dominance of the regatta. Queensland finished on top with 97 points and was pushed all the way by Western Australia (2nd on 89 points) and Victoria (3rd on 84 points). More.... |
