The 2010 World Rowing Masters Regatta is about to get under way in St Catharines, Canada, and nearly 3,000 rowers have signed up to participate. The rowers have come from 34 countries with clubs from the United States and Canada featuring prominently. Racing will take place from 2 to 5 September.
Coming into the two-months-to-go zone for the 2010 World Rowing Championships has brought the announcement that Australia has finalised their team to compete at Lake Karapiro, New Zealand, late October through early November.
The Canadian national team rarely race in Canada, but this year they changed that by showing up in full force at the 128th Royal Canadian Henley Regatta.
It has only been a matter of a few months since the shipment of 14 rowing boats arrived in the South Pacific island nation of Vanuatu but already the local people have embraced the sport and relished the chance to get on the water.
The 11th edition of the World University Rowing Championships had its biggest turnout this year when 28 nations raced in Szeged, Hungary.
