Queensland Masters Team
Our State Masters Team comprises elite rowers set to proudly represent Queensland at the Australian Masters Rowing Championships.
Eligibility Criteria (Rowers):
In order to place a nomination for the Qld Team, you must be:
- A current financial member of a RQ member club or affiliated school association
- able to participate in all selection trials, testing and training activities
- comply with the Rowing Qld Anti-Doping Policy and other related policies
- The minimum average of 50+ years, a Masters D Category
- adhere to the RQ Code of Conduct
Coxswain Selection Criteria:
Coxwain nominees will be trailed during their squad training sessions, and selection will be overseen by both the selectors and the appointed crew coach and are required to assist at selection trials.
Cox Nominees must:
- be fully financial members, including registered with RQ
- be able to make weight (55kg)
- have proven ability to steer
- be available for training sessions on a rotational basis
- be able to provide a recording under racing conditions
- Adhere to the RQ Code of Conduct
Testing Requirements:
1000m Ergometer Test
As part of submitting a nomination, a current 1000m erg test score must be provided and sent to hp@rowingqld.com.au. No late submissions will be permitted.
The ergometer test must be witnessed by a Rowing Qld Masters' Selector or Level 2 club coach. Where a witness is not available, date-stamped video footage of the whole trial including visual of the screen must be provided and sent to hp@rowingqld.com.au. A rower's weight at the time of the erg must be provided and submitted as well.
This trial will be done on a Concept 2 erg, with the following drag factors:
Women: 110 (stationary) or 105 (sliders)
Men: 130 (stationary) or 115 (sliders)
Pair (2-) Selection Race
For those who are nominating for selection in the VIIIs, participation in a 1000m 2- race is required. Lane assignment will be determined by ballot, and the event will occur prior to the first race of the Lake Wyaralong Club Regatta. This selection event is only open to those who have submitted the 1000m ergo score mentioned above.
Single (1x) Selection Race
For those who are nominating for selection in the 4x, participation in a 1000m 1x race is required. Lane Assignment will be determined by ballot, and the event will occur prior to the first race of the Lake Wyaralong Club Regatta. This selection event is only open to those who have submitted the 1000m ergo score mentioned above.

Logistics to Tasmania in 2024:
Noosa Rowing is taking a trailer to the Masters Nationals in Tasmania in May. Ferries all booked.
They have half a trailer available for any other clubs wanting to get their boats down to Tassie. We are working on a break even so are charging the following for return trip:

Quad $500
Eight $1,000
