It’s a great year to be a Queenslander. As our Australian Team touch down in Seattle ready to compete at the 2023 Windermere Cup, Rowing Queensland acknowledge and wish our athletes and coaches representing the Queensland high performance community, training hard to be part of all National Teams, the best of success in the follow events and destinations:

 

Windermere Cup Team - Seattle, USA

An Australian female and male 8+ have been invited to participate at the 37th annual Windermere Cup Regatta, forming part of Seattle’s Opening Day of Boating Season celebration. Each year, international or University crews are invited to compete in this unique experience, racing head-to-head against the University of Washington crews, with Australia competing only twice previously in 1988 and 1997.

Under 19 - Paris, FRANCE

This regatta showcases the best rowers aged 18 or under from around the world. They compete across 14 boat classes over five days, with the progression system of heats through to finals being used.

Virtus Global Games - Vichy, FRANCE

The 121-strong Australian team is expected to be the second-largest behind host nation France. Australia has been a high achiever at the Global Games, topping the medal count in every instalment aside from the first event in Sweden in 2004, where the team finished second, we are looking forward to watching Mac, along side Michael traveling as coach and forming an integral part of the team competing at these games.

Senior NTC / World Cup III - Lucerne, SWITZERLAND

Our next generation of Australian rowing stars will take to the water for the World Cup III. Racing at the World Rowing Cup includes the 14 Olympic boat classes and a selection of International boat classes.

Under 23 - Plovdiv, BULGERIA

A team of 20 athletes and six coaches will be travelling to Europe for the World Rowing U23 Championship.

Australian University Team - Chengdu, CHINA

The World University Games is a great opportunity for student-athletes to compete at the elite level in a multi-sports event and Australia expects to send a team of up to 150 student-athletes to these games in China.

Under 21 - Lake Karapiro, NEW ZEALAND

This Under 21 competition provides invaluable high-level international competition and opportunities for athletes between the World Rowing Championships age categories of Under 19 and Under 23. For a second time, the Australian and New Zealand teams will also be joined by a team from Canada.
