Rowing Queensland advises that all media wishing to attend the 2026 Queensland Schools Championship Regatta in Rockhampton, from 19 to 21 September 2026, will be required to obtain media accreditation prior to attending the event.

Media representatives who arrive at the venue without confirmed accreditation and a pre-booked attendance time will not be permitted entry.  All media must hold a current Qld working with children blue card.  

Accreditation will be subject to venue capacity, operational requirements and the safeguarding requirements associated with an event involving school-aged athletes.

Media representatives should not directly approach school-aged athletes for interviews without prior approval from Rowing Queensland and the appropriate school or team representative.  Rowing Queensland will hold a list of student athletes who have parental consent to third party media interviews or photography.

Access to athlete, boat storage, marshalling, start, finish and other operational areas will be restricted. Accredited media will be advised of approved locations for photography, filming and interviews.

Rowing Queensland may also establish designated media opportunities during the Championship to assist media seeking interviews, vision and photographs while minimising disruption to racing and event operations.

Media accreditation acknowledgement

I acknowledge that: I must follow all directions issued by Rowing Queensland regarding media access, filming, photography, interviews and restricted areas while attending the event. I will report to the nominated Rowing Queensland media contact on arrival and display my media accreditation while onsite. I will not directly approach, interview or arrange an interview with a child or school-aged athlete without prior approval from Rowing Queensland. I understand that Rowing Queensland must have appropriate parental or guardian consent before a child may participate in a media interview, and I will not conduct an interview until Rowing Queensland confirms that the required consent has been obtained. I will comply with any conditions relating to the photography or filming of school-aged athletes and any directions provided by Rowing Queensland, schools or team representatives. I understand that accreditation may be withdrawn if I do not comply with these conditions or with reasonable directions given by Rowing Queensland in relation to event operations, safety or safeguarding. ☐ I have read and agree to the Media Accreditation Conditions and acknowledge the requirements relating to interviews, filming and photography of children and school-aged athletes.
