Rowing Queensland Announces Partnership with Cox Coach™ to Strengthen Coxswain Development
Rowing Queensland is proud to announce a new partnership with Cox Coach: the world’s leading coxswain development platform. As part of this partnership, Rowing Queensland is formally endorsing Cox Coach and encouraging schools and rowing programs across the state to utilise the platform as a resource for coxswain development.
Through this partnership, Rowing Queensland and Cox Coach will work together to strengthen the coxswain development pathway across Queensland and support the development of the next generation of great Queensland coxswains.
Rowing Queensland CEO Anthea O’Loughlin said Rowing Queensland is delighted to partner with a platform that is setting the global standard for coxswain development.
“Cox Coach is the world’s leading coxswain development platform, and we are excited to partner with them to help strengthen the coxswain pathway in Queensland. The calibre of Cox Coach presenters is outstanding, with multiple Olympic coxswains delivering world-class lessons. Combined with the quality of the production, Cox Coach is setting the global standard for coxswain development.”
Cox Coach is the world’s first dedicated learning platform designed specifically to develop coxswains. The platform brings together Olympic coxswains, Olympic coaches, and leading experts from across the sport to deliver structured lessons covering the technical, tactical, and leadership skills required to excel in the role. Through high quality video lessons and practical learning modules, Cox Coach gives coxswains access to world-class expertise that has historically been inaccessible to our programs.
By prioritising structured development opportunities, the partnership aims to lift the standard of coxing across Queensland while also helping retain talented young coxswains in the sport.
Leading Queensland coxswain Tom Shaw shared:
“I wish I had access to Cox Coach when I was at school. The platform carefully navigates the nuances of coxing, helping programs develop the skills that are required to thrive in the role, but often get neglected.”
Cox Coach Founder and CEO Charlie Durkin welcomed the partnership with Rowing Queensland.
“This partnership represents our shared commitment to develop great coxswains throughout the Queensland rowing community.
Throughout the 2026 season, we’ve seen schools and coxes across Australia thrive as a result of using the Cox Coach platform. We’re excited to extend this success into Queensland and are extremely grateful for the support of Rowing Queensland.”
Rowing Queensland looks forward to working alongside Cox Coach to continue building momentum around coxswain development across the state. By supporting initiatives that recognise the importance of the coxswain role and provide meaningful pathways for development, the partnership aims to strengthen Queensland rowing for years to come.
Schools, coaches, and coxswains interested in learning more are encouraged to explore the Cox Coach platform and discover how it is helping develop the next generation of great coxswains.
