Toowong Rowing Club wins 2011 Queensland Club Premiership

Off the back of a very successful Queensland State Championships, Toowong Rowing Club have taken out the 2011 QLD Club Premiership.  Going into  the State Championships Toowong were 19.5 points behind Riverway Rowing Club from Townsville, but the great success gained there, including being involved in wins in both the Eric Evers Trophy for the Men's Eight and Kay Carpenter Trophy for the Women's Eight, pushed them over the line.  Riverway finished the year with second in the QLD Premiership, to go with with win in the North QLD Premiership, 99 points behind Toowong on 493 points.  Coming in third after also having a successful State Championships was Griffith University Surfers Paradise Rowing Club on 389 points, then Commercial Rowing Club on 352, Brisbane & GPS Rowing Club on 338 points and the NQ Premiership runner's up Mackay on 331 points.  Rowing Queensland wishes Toowong Rowing Club a massive congratulations after a successful and consistant year, scoring strongly in all 3 South QLD pointscore regattas and the State Championships.
