2011 Rowing Queensland Junior Elite Talent Squad (JETS) Camp
Fitzroy River, Rockhampton 20th – 22nd September 2011
Nominations are now open for the 2011 JETS camp to be held on the Fitzroy River directly after the QLD State School Championships. The very best male and female high school rowers who are capable of performing well at the Australian Junior selection trials within the next two seasons will be invited to the camp. There will be up to forty places offered to rowers who are currently enrolled at school in years 10, 11 and year 12.
Rower selection will be assessed by the following data:
• On water performances
• National Talent Identification Test results
• 2000m Ergometer score
Rower nominations must be submitted to Rowing Qld by email no later than 5.00pm, Friday 26th August 2011. Rower and coach selections will be advised by the 2nd September. Nomination forms are available on the link below. Coach selection will be based on future coaching potential and the number of their rowers attending the camp.
The cost associated with the camp is $125 per person which includes accommodation and food at Rockhampton Grammar School, coaching and structured sessions throughout the camp, on-water video analysis, and lectures by guest presenters. Rowing Queensland places particular importance on this squad of rowers and as such have heavily subsidised this camp.
Please note that transport to and from Rockhampton is not included in the above costs.
