KIRS Heavyweight 8+ $20K. Bought new in December 2006, crews using this boat won the 2010 Australian Men’s U19 8+ at Nagambie and won the last three Tasmanian Heads of the River. Hutchins 1st VIII won the 2011 Men's Senior VIII at the Tasmanian State Championships in this boat.
Rated at 95-105KG it is a KIRS “Empacher” design hull with Rowfit running gear. A good rigid hull, fastidiously maintained, we are moving this boat on as part of our capital program and because its average crew weight is too high for our current open squad. It would be ideal for heavyweight schoolboys or as a men`s club 8+. Boat is available for inspection at the 2011 Nationals where it will be rowed in the King's Cup by the Tasmanian crew.
